What are toxins and how do they operate?

What are toxins and how do they operate?
Toxins are simply, biological or chemical agents that adversely affect the immune system. But how do toxins hurt the human body? You see, the body should be in a state of homeostasis able to adjust to all environmental changes. For instance, when we are hot, we sweat which cools the bodies core. When we cannot adjust to internal or external changes, the body begins to show signs of discomfort. Toxic overload can cause disease and the symptoms will vary according to the type of agent that has been introduce into the body, and which system or systems it affects. Any toxin changes the effectiveness and speed of bodily functions—it changes the body at a cellular level. In fact, aging is partially an accumulation of toxins in the cells. These toxins gradually slow down cell regeneration and increase cell breakdown. The good news is your body has incredibly efficient mechanisms for eliminating toxins and most toxic damage can be undone. The bad news is your body has only a certain number of responses to toxic stresses. And when one system in the body is damaged, most other systems will suffer. Bodily functions are, after all, incredibly interdependent. You need to keep your body and its organs working effectively. And you can only do that by eliminating toxins. But toxins are pervasive and removing them may not be so easy. They can be in our air, food and water.

Why people get sick?
Because of Toxins and Body Imbalance.

What are toxins?
Toxins are poisons and are a by-product of life. They create irritating and/or harmful effects in the body and their accumulation can decrease your immunity and energy level. They can enter the body through food, water, medications, bad habits, and in some cases, the body makes them by breaking down other substances.

Why should I detoxify?
The combination of lifestyle choices and environmental pollutants can put incredible stress on the detoxification systems of the body. Toxins can reach undesirable levels and these levels can rise without you even knowing it. Internal cleansing helps alleviate some of that stress and ensures your body is able to maintain a healthy detoxification system. By cleansing the inside of the body you’ll feel refreshed, re-energized, and healthier.

When should I begin cleansing?
Now. The sooner you start the cleansing process, the better your results will be. Each day that you ignore your detoxification system, the more likely it is to falter. Likewise, the sooner you begin cleansing, the quicker you toxin load will be reduced.

How long do toxins stay in the body?
Some toxins remain in the body for hours. Others for days or weeks. Some deeply imbedded toxins can remain for years. How quickly your body eliminates them depends greatly on the type of toxins ingested, how much was ingested, the concentration of those toxins, your metabolism rate, your general health.

Are there warning signs I should look for that will tell me my body is overloaded with toxins?
If you listen carefully to your body, it will tell you when something is wrong. There are warning signs of toxic build up but it is important to know that these warning signs could also indicate other problems as well.

The Warning Signs:
Headaches, Tight or stiff neck, Irritated eyes, Nervousness, Skin Rashes, Indigestion, Constipation, Weakness, Joint Pain, Backaches, Runny nose, Insomnia, Nausea, Bad breath, Fatigue, Depression

How can I assure myself of the best possible results?
Since many prescription and non-prescription drugs can contribute to toxic build-up, it is wise to avoid them whenever you can. Second, drink plenty of water. Health care professionals recommend that you drink 6 to 8 12-ounces glasses of plain water a day since water is vital for your health. Likewise, water is the vehicle by which your body moves toxins along. Coffee, tea, soda, alcohol, and sugary fruit juices may dehydrate you so we suggest you greatly restrict them from your diet or avoid them entirely. Third, commit yourself to a healthy lifestyle: eat balanced, low-fat meals; get plenty of rest; and exercise regularly.

Do you consider cigarettes to be a toxin?
Obviously, tar and nicotine from cigarettes are toxic.
